Drawn staight into Photoshop using 3 brushes: hard round with watercolour paper texture, oil pastel with watercolour paper texture and the later with dual brush turned off. Initially black and white I added some suble tones with colour balance but not too much as I wanted to retain the bleak, moody look that greyscale gives a piece.
Thats brilliant, I love the detail and the lighting, very moody, good detail on the background too, just enough to make it interesting without it taking anything away from the figure. By the way cheak out a trailer for a game called 'Maelstrom'. Also 'Age of Conan' might be of interest to you as well.

Thanks man glad you like it. Yeah, every now and then I feel obliged to have a crack at backgrounds.
I'll chck out those trailers- seen some stillls of the Conan one already, looks pretty cool.
Thanx- one of the things I miss about working with traditional media is the texture, so I try toincorporate it into my digital work as much as possible
well you've done a good job there, the black and white shading is a good style for you, might be worth doing some more pictures like that, afterall it does suit the dark themes in some of your work rather nicely.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
