Scientific types will have you believe that thunder is caused when lightning super heats air causing it to expand at great speed creating a sonic shock wave! An enlightened few know that it is in fact caused by the legendary Thunderhorse (thanks Dethklok for the name). Of every now and then old Thunderhorse likes to kick back and let Thor have a go.

This started as a pencil study of part of a sculpture that can be found around Picadilly Circus in London. Colored in Photoshop 7.
